About Tarek

I've had to start over, too. That's why I get it.

My career ran from civil engineer, to programmer, to manager — and then a downsizing let me go after twelve years. That moment turned into the work I was meant to do: helping owners turn hard turns into stronger businesses and fuller lives.

My story

A problem-solver who found his calling in people

I've always been drawn to problems and puzzles — I still solve one every single day, and it's the part of work I love most. Early on, that pull showed up in unexpected ways: I was a civil engineer who couldn't stop programming, and I was good enough at it that it reshaped my whole career. I worked in the U.S. and overseas, and over time I rose into management, where I discovered something that surprised me — a real gift for motivating people and helping them grow.

Then, after twelve years with my last firm, I was let go in a downsizing. It was the pivotal turn of my career. The early days of coaching were a struggle, honestly — but they taught me what owners actually go through when the ground shifts under them. I went on to build the Focused.com platform, and I've spent the years since combining the three things I'm endlessly curious about: technology, human development, and the way people work together.

Along the way I became a published author and have led seminars like Pathway to Maturity — but the credential I trust most is the track record of owners who've sat across from me and broken through.

That reinvention is why I don't coach from a textbook. I coach from having been there — and from genuine excitement every time a client breaks through. As I like to say: we just need to get out of our own way.

What I believe

Every person you meet is a lesson you haven't taken yet

We're all born with great potential. Unlocking it usually means stepping outside ourselves for a moment — seeing ourselves the way others see us. The diversity in our backgrounds and experiences isn't just something to appreciate; it's a curriculum.

I stay in my lane — I coach, I don't counsel — but I see the whole person. Your business and your life aren't two separate things, and I won't pretend they are.

My values, in order

Who I work with

Owners who built something around a craft they love

Most of the people I coach are small to medium-sized business owners and founders who started with a skill they're great at — and then found themselves buried in the operational side of running a company. You may be working incredibly hard without seeing the financial results you deserve. You may feel like you're working for the business instead of it working for you. And at the top, it can get lonely.

If you're time-starved, a little isolated, maybe even navigating family-business dynamics on top of everything else — you're exactly who I built Soaring Revenues for.
